I've recently started using a pad of 11"x17" graph paper to prepare my presentations. I did one recently that was an hour and a half long talk on intellectual property and idea generation. I found it invaluably helpful to be able to have an overall view of the whole presentation on one sheet.

I would divide each sheet into three roughly equal columns and write the brief overview of points i wanted to make on each of the three main topics. After that I would take a new page, divide it up into three columns and give a more in-depth focus on on particular section. Organizing the flow of the material and it's consistancy as pare of a whole presentation became more and more easy.

Tranisitioning the these written pages to visuals was a snap.
