Sharing a slightly better SH-Autolink

Back in November of 2005, I posted about a fix I made to Stevie’s SH-Autolink plugin for WordPress. I thought it would be best to get the fix into the distribution Stevie offers so there would be a single version for everyone. Another concern I had was that I am not a PHP developer, so my code is probably not as elegant as it could be. Over the last few months I have received requests to share the changes so that others could benefit right away. We all understand how busy life gets, so while Stevie considers the suggestions I have made, you can download my patched version.

Thanks for posting this. I found this link through your comment made on the original author’s site.

I myself took your version and just changed the target=”" to rel=”" (for use with JS) because I can’t use depreciated tags.

I also want to see if I can make the original text’s capitalization remain, instead of just replacing it with the keyword’s, but I don’t know if my skills are up to snuff. If I get it, I’ll let you know. Wish me luck!

[...] The original author of the code I changed and abused was some guy named Stevie, it was then fixed up by Brian Goodman and then taken apart and turned into something completely different by me! You can download the code at http://imprompt.us/wp-content/uploads/autolink.zip. The code is offered up under the terms of the GPL. [...]
